Getting started

Five short steps from install to publishing your first generated description. Read end-to-end in about ten minutes.

1. 01

   Install Descriva from the Shopify App Store

   Open the Descriva listing on the Shopify App Store and click Install. Shopify will show you the requested permission (write_products) and ask you to confirm. Descriva opens inside your Shopify admin once install completes — there's no separate login or dashboard to manage.

2. 02

   Set up your brand voice (one-time, takes 2 minutes)

   On Pro and Scale plans, paste two or three product descriptions you already like into the brand voice profile, mark the tone you want (for example: warm, technical, playful), and list any words you want Descriva to avoid. Every future generation references this profile so descriptions sound like the rest of your store. You can edit the profile any time.

3. 03

   Generate your first description

   Pick a product from your catalog, choose a tone (5 options) and a length (3 options), and click Generate. Descriva drafts three description options side by side. Read through them, tweak the wording inline, or regenerate with a different tone. Nothing is written back to your store yet.

4. 04

   Review the quality score and Google preview, then publish

   Each draft shows a copy quality score and an SEO score, plus a Google search preview that mirrors how the listing will appear in results. When you're happy, click Publish and Descriva writes the description, SEO title, meta description, URL handle, and tags back to the product. The full draft is saved to your generation history — you can restore the previous version with one click within 90 days (Pro and Scale).

5. 05

   Run a bulk job (Scale plan)

   On Scale, select up to 100 products from your catalog, choose the tone and length, and start the job. Descriva runs in the background while you keep working. Drafts queue up in the bulk review screen — approve them one at a time or in batches. Nothing publishes until you say so. Up to 3 bulk jobs per day.
